Stephen Burns has lived in Australia and worked at UTC since 2007. He was born and raised in Cumbria, north-west England, and studied theology at the universities of Durham and Cambridge. He is a priest in the orders of the Church of England, has served parishes in the Diocese of Durham, and was formerly Tutor in Liturgy at the Queen’s Foundation for Ecumenical Theological Education, Birmingham.

Stephen is a Research Fellow in Charles Sturt University's Public and Contextual Theology Strategic Research Centre (see http://www.csu.edu.au/faculty/arts/ theology/pact). He works across the fourth area of the theological curriculum: most of his publications are in liturgical theology, whilst much of his current teaching is in pastoral theology. He is also an advisor to the Uniting Church in Australia's Assembly Working Group on Worship and book reviews editor of the Australian Journal of Liturgy.

Stephen co-ordinates courses in pastoral theology.
