Hannam University Doctorate

Through Hannam University, UTC participates in offering a Doctor of Theology in Ministry (DthM). This is a bilingual degree, combining Korean-language subjects (offered in Hannam) and English-language subjects at UTC.

The purpose of this doctorate is to encourage the creative sharing of theological insights from Korean and western sources. It is a cross-cultural degree aimed at strengthening the professional practice of ministry.

In order to be eligible for enrolment in this degree you must:

  • Hold a Masters degree (or equivalent) in theology;
  • Have been ordained into a specified ministry for a period of at least three years.

The degree is offered in intensive mode, so that each subject is confined to a single week of teaching. The lectures are delivered by scholars from both Hannam and UTC. In the third and final year, students must complete a thesis written in Korean.

This degree is open to ministers in Korea, Australia and the Korean diaspora thoughout the world.
